After all the ups and downs with Covid in 2020 and 2021, the hope is that 2022 will be a better year for everyone. More so for students attending colleges and universities where face-to face (onsite) lectures have been suspended. Online, Distance Learning and Zooms have taken over out of necessity. Many institutions have not been successful with these new modes of teaching. Many students have felt ‘cheated’ after paying high fees expecting a traditional learning experience. Campus accommodation paid for was not provided and no refunds given!
Since 1997 Warnborough College (Ireland) has been at the forefront with Distance Learning for its undergraduate and graduate degree programmes. All Warnborough students have the the benefit of learning online with a personal mentor. Each student even has a ‘peer buddy’ for support and encouragement. No one at Warnborough is lost in the shuffle. All students are valued, and are central to the Warnborough vision of helping them cross boundaries and widen horizons. Warnborough Learning Centres around the globe echo this message. In 2022, Warnborough College (Ireland) celebrates 25 years of success and growth. In 2023, the founding of Warnborough College in Oxford in 1973 will be commemorated.
The challenge for 2022 is to continue with the vision to provide even more relevant online courses and qualifications to meet new trends and demands of society. A strong focus on vocational and technical skills for careers is essential, so people and communities are empowered through quality education. Providing scholarships, training and help to the disadvantaged are priorities of the Warnborough Foundations in the UK and the Netherlands. An invitation is extended to all those who wish to join the Warnborough team to change lives: chairman@warnborough.foundation
