Dan Mullarkey 1949-2020

It was with deep regret that we were informed of the death of a great friend of Warnborough College and the Tempest-Mogg family.  Professor Dan Mullarkey was an experienced human resource practitioner, educator, and Chief Executive of the Central Examining Board, an international examining body.  Dan was inspiring, and forward-thinking. He valued education at all levels and he believed in high standards. He would often rant about what he saw as the decline in university education, the modern trend of ‘bums on seats’ to finance institutions, the restriction of free speech on campuses, and the failings of accreditation systems around the world.  He enjoyed sussing out bogus colleges and questionable practices.  He relished travel and presenting seminars and workshops. He was noted in Oxford as the ‘man with the fold-up foot scooter’.  Affable, caring, and a worthy friend he will be missed. Warnborough is setting up a scholarship in memory of a true educator and friend.
